Each year the missions and ministries of the RPCNA make budgets based on funds they have with the expectation that they will also receive support from RPM&M. While RPM&M represents only a portion of the total budgets of most of these missions and ministries, that portion is vitally important to each of them. RPM&M is funded directly by the generosity of RP congregations and the members of the RPCNA.
Gifts to RPM&M help support the Board of Education and Publication, Geneva College, the Home Mission Board, RP Global Missions, the Reformed Presbyterian Home, the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, the Graduate Study Committee, the Committee for Vital Churches, and the Youth Ministries Committee of Synod. Geneva College
History and missionFor 160 years, Geneva College has shaped the lives and careers of generations of students. On April 20, 1848, Geneva Hall opened in Northwood, Ohio. The school was named in honor of Geneva, Switzerland, center of the Reformed faith movement. Under the sponsorship of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America, Geneva moved in 1880 to Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, to a parcel of land donated by the Harmony Society, a German religious group. The mission of Geneva College is to glorify God by educating and ministering to a diverse community of students for the purpose of developing servant-leaders, transforming society for the kingdom of Christ. We accomplish this through biblically based programs and services marked by excellence and anchored by the historic, evangelical, and Reformed Christian faith. The curriculum is rooted in the liberal arts and sciences, vocationally focused and delivered through traditional and specialized programs. Location and facilitiesGeneva's 55-acre campus is located in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, approximately 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The college’s size — about 1,900 traditional, non-traditional, and graduate students — means that its students have access to a wide range of educational resources while still receiving individual attention. The college has also recently completed the construction on a new campus entrance, pedestrian mall and main parking area. Academics and activitiesAcademics at Geneva are based on a simple assumption: that the world belongs to God. This means that each course at Geneva is an exploration of a particular aspect of life in a world that resounds with God’s grace in Jesus Christ, but which is also affected by human sinfulness. It means that each field of study is an opportunity to pursue God’s calling in learning how to serve wisely and faithfully in God’s world. And, it means that we challenge students every day, in and out of the classroom, to develop keen insight in discerning how life in God’s world is best lived. Geneva offers 36 undergraduate majors in fields ranging from engineering, applied music, and broadcasting to accounting, English, chemistry, and biblical studies. In recent years, one of the college’s fastest-growing areas has been its adult degree completion program. The ADCP is conducted in 11 area locations including Beaver Falls, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown, Ohio. The program is designed for working adults with some college experience, and it offers majors in community ministry, human resources, and organizational development. Geneva also offers master’s degree programs in business administration, counseling, higher education, organizational leadership and special education, but academics are just a part of the Geneva College experience. There are also plenty of student organizations and opportunities for spiritual growth, including a student senate, Athletes in Action, the campus newspaper, an Internet radio station, a marching band, a touring choir, and community service projects. In addition, Geneva is proud of its many recreational programs, as well as the nationally ranked Golden Tornado varsity teams in football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, cross country, track and field, and tennis. FacultyThe members of the faculty are the heart of Geneva College. Geneva professors are committed to excellence in learning and the development of their students. In addition to their superb educational preparation, many of Geneva's more than 80 professors have real world work experience in their fields - Geneva has education professors who have been teachers, chemistry professors who have been chemists, and business faculty who have been accountants or have held executive posts. And you will find many faculty who are actively engaging the culture through research and writing. Faculty share this broad range of education and experience with their students to engage them in their fields and to prepare them for life beyond the classroom.
